In the present study, the fourth grade experimental science textbook (1401-1402) has been analyzed based on William Rumi's technique to determine whether the text, images and questions of this book are active or inactive by means of William Rumi's engagement coefficient. The statistical population of this research is the fourth grade experimental science textbook published in the academic year 1401-1402, and the sample was selected based on William Rumi's method; So that 10 pages of text and 10 pages of pictures and 10 pages of questions from book activities were randomly selected. The obtained results showed that the engagement coefficient was 1.1 in the text of the lesson, 0.25 in the pictures of the book, and 5.7 in the questions and activities of the book.
Therefore, according to this research, the book of experimental sciences of the fourth grade in the academic year 1401-1402 is in a favorable condition in terms of the text of the book and is active, but in terms of the pictures of the book, it is inactive and does not engage the student with the learning topic, in terms of activities and Questions are also the over-engagement factor identified by William Rumi and are considered passive.
