Science is one of the most important subjects in school. Through science education, gaining technological, critical thinking and problem solving skills for success in school and after that is possible. Due to the importance of science education in schools, several teaching methods and strategies have been developed. It has been found that constructivist based methods are more efficient than others. Although there are various constructivist teaching approaches, the learning cycle has been found to be one of the predominant constructivist teaching approaches. In this article, different versions of learning cycles are reviewed with an emphasis on the 7E model along with examples, and the advantages and disadvantages of using the learning cycle model are stated.
