Abstract

Abstract

Education today is not about preparing students for life in a fixed and static world, but about preparing them to cope with the changes in life today and in the future. In traditional teaching, the goal was to master the content without emphasizing the development of skills and attitudes, and students were in fact just receiving their teacher's knowledge. However, exploratory teaching basically believes in preparing the individual for independent learning. 99-98, the quasi-experimental research was pre-test-post-test with two experimental and control groups and the statistical population of 95 people includes all eighth grade female students. 76 of these students were selected by simple random sampling and were tested in both experimental and control groups by measurement tools including Torrance-Madsage Creativity Questionnaire and Academic Achievement. Initially, both experimental and control groups underwent pre-test, then during 12 sessions, science was taught by the experimental group by exploratory method and the control group by traditional method, post-test was performed by both groups. In this study, SPSS software was used. Exploratory teaching method has a greater effect on the average of creativity, academic achievement, fluidity, initiative, flexibility and student development than the traditional teaching method.
